UVI Research & Technology Park—Entrepreneurship Manager

Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. is actively involved in the day-to-day management of various entrepreneurship and STEM programs at UVI Research and Technology Park (RTPark). His primary objective is to enhance the brand of RTPark by overseeing the successful launch and operation of these programs. Among them, the flagship initiative is the Accelerate VI Program, which stands as the Virgin Islands’ premier technology accelerator program. This program specifically assists early-stage companies in growing and scaling their businesses within the U.S. Virgin Islands. Notably, the Accelerate VI program has witnessed the participation of over 20 companies, collectively raising an impressive $7.2 million in just four years.

Before joining RTPark, Alfonso amassed over a decade of experience as a Lean Six Sigma practitioner and data analyst, specializing in healthcare operations. During this period, he undertook a diverse range of projects for healthcare clients. His responsibilities included facilitating rapid improvement events, conducting Lean Six Sigma workforce training, implementing lean daily management systems, and overseeing new business development projects.

As a proud native of St. Croix, USVI, Alfonso currently resides there with his wife and young daughter. He graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands with a background in Applied Mathematics and Physics, making him a strong advocate for local talent in the USVI. Alfonso finds great fulfillment in managing the VI STEM Kids program, an engaging STEM Youth Development Program offered by the RTPark.
